Philadelphia FIFA and USA250 Celebration Information Session

This month’s professional training topic is Critical Information for Embassies Whose Head of State and Dignitaries Will Visit Philadelphia for FIFA Games and Celebrations of the 250th Birthday of the US.‍ ‍

We are delighted to host a panel of high-level speakers from the Philadelphia Mayor's Office and the Pennsylvania Governor's Office at the Embassy of France. This critical outreach effort will greatly support the planning and organization of major visits from foreign Heads of State and other dignitaries to the state of Pennsylvania.

The year 2026 commemorates the 250th birthday of the United States of America. While celebrations will be happening all year long, all across the country, Philadelphia is pivotal as it is the birthplace of American independence. Given its close proximity to New York and Washington DC, the city is already experiencing an increased number of requests for high level visits. In preparation for these visits, the Philadelphia Consular Corps has organized a Dignitary Welcome Team to facilitate Embassy staff ease of arranging visits of Heads of State, Ministers, Ambassadors. Also anticipating an increase in foreign national assistance, additional regional contacts critical to consular duties are also provided. This informative session will provide an overview of Philadelphia resources for the highest level dignitaries as well as visitors, as well as touch upon partnership opportunities to strengthen international ties.

• All guests must be pre-registered and will be asked to show government-issued photo ID upon arrival as part of security screening.
